Mud, Sweat & Beers - 5/1

Quick recap from Mud, Sweat and Beers this past Saturday.

Despite some serious rain the night prior, the weather turned out great and the course actually benefited from it.  The venue was fanastic and could be considered a Spring Iceman, only harder. Mostly because much of the course was run on the Vasa in the reverse direction of the Iceman. Including a climb up the Wall, opposed  to down it. Which now sports notches in the trees that were so narrow it was nearly impossible to clear with your bars. The Vasa presents an interesting challenge with relentless climbs, sand, plenty of all out flats, more climbs, more sand, climbs and more sand. The course as well as, the beer tent easily accomidated the 500 participants before and after the race. All said and done, it was a very tough course, ultra competitive racing and an all around great time. Definitely worth putting on your calendar for next year.

While we didn't a have a large team showing , we took two top 5 places. No age categories here. Just an all out battle.
